Ruth Elliott

Leadership Coach & Facilitator

Before becoming a Coach, Ruth’s professional background spanned over 20 years.  She has worked in leadership positions within the corporate sector (Information Technology), Education and Health arenas, in both Australia and the United Kingdom.  As such, she has a full understanding of the pressures and challenges working in fast-paced constantly changing V.U.C.A. environments.

Ruth is passionate about working with individuals and teams, to make work a place of excellence and engagement, whilst also becoming healthier, more enjoyable places to be.   By combining a sense of purpose, knowledge of values and utilising strengths, Ruth believes workplaces can be places where people can flourish.  Ruth has a particular passion for working with emerging female leaders.  She uses practical and proven evidence-based approaches from the fields of Coaching and Positive Psychology, to facilitate greater awareness, understanding and meaningful lasting behaviour change.

Courageous Authenticity, curiosity and ‘love of learning’ are three of Ruth’s top strengths.  Originally from the United Kingdom, her curiosity has led to a love of travel, having explored over 40 countries (so far).  Ruth most recently expressed her ‘love of learning’ when she obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Arts Therapy in 2020.  One of Ruth’s biggest challenges to date, was completing a Triathlon – this involved having to learn how to ride a road bike and overcome a fear of ocean swimming!  Most recently she has been learning to play tennis, which she absolutely loves.  In 2019 Ruth started a whole new adventure, by moving to Auckland after 20 years living in Sydney Australia.

Ruth has a Masters degree in Coaching Psychology (Sydney University), certification IV in Life Coaching, and accreditations in The Strengths Profiler, MTQ 48 Mental Toughness and The Leadership Circle 360 assessment tools.   She is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the International Society of Coaching Psychology (ISCP), the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) and is on the Executive Committee of the New Zealand Association of Positive Psychology (NZAPP).  MSc Coaching Psychology (Sydney University, Australia); Post Grad Dip in Arts Therapy (Whitecliffe College, NZ); Post Grad Dip in Social Research Methods (Surrey University, UK); BA (Hons) Applied Social Studies (Sociology & Psychology)  (Sheffield Hallam University, UK); BFA (Painting)  (The National Art School, Australia)
